Pearl Harbor - December 7, 1941
Pearl Harbor is a day that will forever be ingrained into American History. One of the first attacks by a foreign country on U.S. soil, it will never be forgotten. A Sunday at 7:48 am, on December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked a U.S. military base in Oahu, Hawaii both by air and sea. By the end of the unknown attack, all eight ships were damaged, and four out of eight were sunk. The four sunken ships were all raised except for USS Arizona. Today, there is a memorial in honor of the day that will forever live in our history.
Day of Infamy - December 7, 1941
"Day of Infamy" is defined as the day the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, just before the start of World War II. It is one of the most devastating attacks on U.S. soil, and created an uproar against Japan and the rest of the Central powers. It is infamous because even though it has the word fame in it, it is a day of fame gone bad.
